Boccia is a game that is played at the Paralympics

and on more recreational levels too I love it, I played competitively and never made it very high in the ranks though. The basics are this:

The red player throws out the white ball (the jack) the red team then throw out the first ball the blue player then throws out the next ball. after the six balls on either side rotating turns. after each round (end) the score is calucated by the player with balls closest to the jack

The game is over after 4 ends the video shown.
Below is a sample of the sport which i found on youtube

About lifeofthedifferentlyabled

Laura Forde founded her blog through my eyes: my life with cerebral palsy in December 2009 out of a great need she had, realizing that there was a vast gap in firsthand accounts of what life was like living with Cerebral Palsy: she knew then that the only way to see this reflected online was to create the change herself and thus this blog was born Laura was born four months premature, weighing a mere one pound three ounces and given ten percent odds for survival. She was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at the age of three. After graduating from college, she continued writing and doing what she loves to do most; speaking to groups about her life experiences and sharing what she has learned from her journey. Her blog lifeofthedifferentlyabled was created after discovering that the online community lacked the voice of people in her situation. In its first year, the site saw over 20,000 hits from all over the world. Her readers are from all walks of life; some with disabilities, parents of children, professionals, and others who seek to gain a better understanding of the world of the differently abled. We are trying to figure out something for Christopher to do for Special Olympics – since he can’t walk, or swim, or push his own chair – we were thinking boccia. He really has quite the arm on him for not having any muscles! LOL! It wil probably be a few years yet before we can get him really involved……hmmmm, thinking I need to purchase or make a set now. :)

Best wishes, Christopher and Stephanie, and good luck.

Boccia requires accuracy at least as much as strength.

Do watch the film and find out more about boccia.

Life also explains the rules and procedures really well.
