I wouldn’t be sitting here sharing the story I am about to tell if it not for the generosity of others. In late January I was approached by a teacher from St. Pius X High School in Ottawa Ontario to speak at their school’s disability awareness week. At first I said yes, and then realized when booking the trip, that it was simply out of my financial means at this time.
With help from a friend, and because of the kindness of others, the trip is still on. I fly to Ottawa on Thursday and return home to Kitchener on Sunday. My friend contacted Bearskin Airlines who graciously offered to fly me and my crew of three others free of charge. I can’t begin to say thank you enough and these words aren’t simply doing my feelings justice. I am also proud to share the article which shared this story. The article was featured in this past Saturday’s K-W Record and can be found here. I am humbled by Bearskin’s generosity and will be both blogging and photographing my adventures while away!

Great to hear others stepped up to make this trip possible! Have safe travels.
hey zach thanks for the comment as always! How did you find the article to post to twitter that early?
Oh Laura! How wonderful! Do you know that this story is going to reach far and wide? Have a good time and tell it like it is.

thank you Glynis I am honoured to have such loyal readers like you!
Hey Laura,
I read the newspaper article at my grandma’s house. That’s awesome to hear that you get to speak on your life. I know it’s always been a dream of yours of talking about your life to others and travel. I knew one day that you would get to share your story with others and travel as well. All the best on the trip and hope all goes well.
One day you should write a book on your life on how fair you have come. I know that you would change a lot of how people think of people in chairs. You know that I know that you can do anything and to share that with others. I think that’s awesome to see that you are changing the way people think and help people in a chairs.
You have always be an inspiration in my life because you never give up. You always show that you can do it no matter what happens in life.
Thanks Rosie
