This post comes from the question I asked yesterday regarding what others would find useful to my blog. To quote one of the comments: “What I am really interested in is how diffabled people solve difficult issues in their lives, things that “normal” people don’t think about. Like how to carry more than you can hold in one hand while in a wheelchair. Cleaning the bathroom is a big challenge. Etc. I’m interested to learn other wheeler’s solutions to everyday challenges. That, and keeping your spirits up in the face of daily – hourly – difficulties that very few people understand or have any idea about. This is something I find very hard. I’m also interested to read other people’s personal journey’s – how did you get here?”
That is a lot of questions in one, but I will do my best to answer each in its own right. First, I feel it makes the most sense to answer the when I have the least experience with: how I clean the bathroom. Light housekeeping is part of the service that my attendants carry out for me. That is they also help with such things as laundry and meal prep too.
