I welcome a child’s curiosity

I think all too often when you live life from the point of view, of a visible disability I think it truly lends itself to being somewhat of a poster child for other folks with disabilities. My perception is that able bodied people generalize people with disabilities

. I have had experiences where people ask me what my disability is, I explain that it is cerebral palsy and then they answer oh, I know what that is because I know someone with spina bifida. I hate to make such a gross generalization, but really people?  This sort of thing bugs me and actually drive me nuts I understand when it comes from a child in public but I hate when the adult answers with oh there an accident victim or discourage the child from asking I like when kids ask questions, their curiosity doesn’t bother me at all
